I believe that Maggie had flowers around the sides of her house. I like to imagine that she could look out her kitchen window and enjoy her flower garden. Maggie’s daughter, my grandmother, taught me to love violets. At every stage in life, I’ve always had a violet with me. The last three years, I’ve come to love filling the spaces around my house with flowers. There are still violets on my kitchen window, but I’ve come to love other flowers as well. Seeing my perennials push through the soil again each spring is like saying hello to an old friend. I hope that you can enjoy some of my flowers and be inspired to plant your own.
